Chapter 1: Approaching the new year

Manifestation: An event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea.

When the new year approaches, I will make my list of goals to only forget about them halfway through the first month of January. The past two years I didn't put much thought into self-care and having a clear focus on exactly what I wanted to do. I would recycle other peoples goals into what I thought I should do.

Impact- 2018 was one of the most impactful years of my life. With lessons that tested me, and knocked me down to nurture me back up to the person I'm becoming. I see myself not only more self-aware. But, with a more sharp mindset of what I want to accomplish.

Movement- Each year before January 1st, I was out and about. However, this year I stayed home and took time for me. Reflecting on my year which was much needed, because up until now the negatives of the year overshadowed my accomplishments. Whether big or small I had some fantastic moments in 2018. Nevertheless, when life gets me down, it's easier to remember the bad. So, my initiative going into the new year was to self-reflect and recite my goals until the clock struck 12.

Begin- January so far has been a constant reminder to keep moving forward. Each day I wake up and work towards a better me, and I think more into the future of what I will accomplish. I'm also replacing "I hope" to "I will" even if it leads to failure, I know as long as I go in with an assertive mindset I'll be fine. Positivity and knowing what I want, not afraid to say I tried and to keep envisioning my goals as chapter 1 of 2019 slowly comes to an end. Thus, 11 more chapters to go and I can't wait to see how my story unfolds.
